Dwight Landreneau

After working for many years as a county agent and aquaculture agent Mr. Landreneau finished his career with the LSU AgCenter as the Associate Vice Chancellor. He is now the Mayor of the city of Washington, Louisiana. Mr. Landreneau played a large role in the creation of the Louisiana 4-H Museum in Mansura. His vision for Guns & Gumbo, the largest annual fundraiser for Louisiana 4-H, has contributed to the continued financial support of the program. Throughout his career, Dwight understood the need for public and private financial support at all levels for the Louisiana 4-H program. He led the initiative to grow local financial support for parish programs from Parish Governmental entities. He made the parish and community governments more aware of the benefits the 4-H Program provides to their constituents. The resulting collaborative relationships with local governments are now a key design in Louisiana 4-H program support and implementation statewide.
