She is involved in regional and state shooting sports events and has served as a chaperone for the national competition for 5 years. Renette has served on the Livingston Parish Shooting Sports Advisory Board since its implementation in 2012. She has played a significant role in rebuilding this program in Livingston parish to now providing 5 disciplines with an average of 170 members enrolled each year over the last 5 years. She implemented a parish ambassador program allowing senior members to step into a leadership role within their project, assisting coaches on the ranges where appropriate, teaching related STEM lessons to young members, and promoting the program throughout the parish. Upon judging the state records contest, Renette developed a record book workshop that is taught in the parish each spring to members interested in submitting their record books to the state records contest leading to increased participation and state-level winners.
