Dr. Mark Tassin has spent most of his life involved in 4-H and has continually put youth above all else in everything that he has done. He began his 4-H career in West Baton Rouge as a 4-Her showing chickens and rabbits. During this time, he fostered a love for animals and 4-H. This love ultimately encouraged him to pursue a degree in animal science. After college, he began his career as a 4-H agent and county agent in Iberville Parish. He then moved on to become the Regional Coordinator for the Southeast region in 2001. From there, he became the 4-H Department Head Program Leader in 2006. Dr. Tassin served as the National Shooting Sports committee co-chairman for 8 years and trained over 200 youth. Throughout his career, he lead numerous committees and was an active member of the Association of Extension 4-H Agents at the state and national level. Dr. Tassin has dedicated 37 years of service to 4-H and the LSU AgCenter. His impact on the 4-H program and youth across Louisiana is vast. In his retirement, he continues to serve 4-H and volunteers in Iberville Parish. We are so thankful for your dedication, Dr. Tassin!
