Ms. Laura Strahan has been a 4-H Leader for the past 31 years and has worked faithfully to promote and maintain her 4-H program. She embodies the spirit of 4-H and loyally serves the youth of Natchitoches Parish. Ms Strahan has been described as a “true testament” to the 4-H motto. Her most significant contribution to 4-H is giving her time, energy, and dedication to make an impact on a diverse 4-H audience. As a member of the parish Foundation, Laura helped pioneer a fundraising banquet and auction that has profited nearly $90,000 in the last four years. She works diligently to advocate and promote 4-H and faces adversity with a smile, confidence, and enough “true grit” to reach any goal set. In addition to fundraising, she consistently offers her time in a safe, inclusive atmosphere, boldly embraces change, and can often times be found chaperoning at various 4-H events. Ms Strahan realizes the needs of youth in a very rural parish and provides activities, opportunities, and trips to ensure exposure to an extremely diverse 4‐H audience. She is a project mentor and hosts record book workshops that produce state winning record books annually. Ms. Strahan is the epitome of a servant leader, a dedicated business owner, and an incredible educator and volunteer. She attributes much of her life success to extensive, lifelong 4-H involvement and we are so thankful for her. Thank you Ms. Strahan!
