Brenda Shope

Ms. Brenda Shope joined 4-H as a 9-year-old member of the Lake Charles Community 4-H. She was very active in the horse program and her activity has carried over into her adult life. She became a parent volunteer when her children became involved in 4-H and eventually served as the Calcasieu Home School club leader. She currently serves as the project leader for the horse program and has conducted 4-H Horse Camp reaching over 900 participants. She is a graduate of the first Master Horseman Class in Southwest Louisiana, serves on the Calcasieu 4-H Overall Advisory Board and as president of the Calcasieu 4-H Foundation Board. She has also spent many years volunteering for 4-H Camp, 4-H Short Course, and 4-H University. She is an avid supporter of the rodeo, serves on various committees, and owes and operates Shope Land and Cattle with her daughters in Longville. Thank you, Ms. Shope!
