Additional research will develop predictive simulations/models or utilize a processed-based model on soil properties, soil health, water quality, GHG emission, and crop production. The research will focus on studying soil chemical processes on water use efficiency, water quality, nutrient transport, and other soil services. The applicants will be expected to conduct field studies on the influence of soil management practices, including cover crops, additional carbon amendment, carbon sequestration, soil water storage, and C and N cycles to improve crop production. Other activities include research on the impact of climate change on crop production through the management of GIS-based data analysis, and a GIS-based watershed model will be desired. The position also will be responsible for supervising student and transient employees.
