Work Location: LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, LSU Campus
Position Description: General responsibilities include installing, setting up, maintaining, and repairing computers and related equipment in a Windows environment; configuring and supporting packaged software such as Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems; installation and setup of Windows based software; and Active Directory management. The person filling this position will be expected to diagnose problems successfully by telephone, remote access tools, as well as onsite visits; research computing equipment and software to guide purchasing decisions; and work with others in IT to provide technical training to users and peers. The primary area of support responsibilities will be for the faculty and staff of the College of Agriculture and LSU AgCenter through the IT Help Desk. Overnight travel will occasionally be required. This person reports to the Help Desk Manager for IT Support in LSU AgCenter Information Technology.
Qualification Requirements: A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required. Applicants must have two or more years of experience with the Microsoft Windows 10/11 operating systems and the Microsoft Office/Office 365 suite of applications. Strong analytical and technical communication skills are required. Candidates must be ambitious and self-motivated to learn by observation, inquiry and research. They will need to work well with a broad spectrum of personality types. Candidates must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and or crawl as well as lift and handle 50 lbs. Applicants must have a cellphone with voice and data services and have or be able to obtain a valid Louisiana driver's license.
