Position Description: The Information Technology Security Analyst is responsible for assisting with efforts to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information resources utilized by the LSU AgCenter and its community. Other responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, and assisting with coordinating responses to threats such as malware, phishing, and other exploitations identified by various security platforms; analyzing logs to detect and remediate compromised user accounts and systems; collaborating with LSU AgCenter IT staff to communicate best practices, standards, procedures, policy, etc., related to information security; assisting with vulnerability management activities; assisting in the creation and maintenance of documentation for internal systems, process and procedures; assisting with the maintenance of systems utilized by the information security group, including toolsets, software/applications/services, and configurations; serving as an information security resource for the LSU AgCenter and the LSU AgCenter community; staying informed of current threats and mitigation options in order to make appropriate recommendations; assisting in the research, testing, demonstration, and evaluation of new security toolsets; assisting in improving and optimizing current processes and procedures; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements: A bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of full-time professional-level IT experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Completed coursework and/or assessments in the study of information security, and professional-level IT experience in coordination with information security and identity and access management teams/groups.
A successful candidate will also possess:
· Work experience with Windows systems administration and identity and access management
· A strong grasp of modern information security principles and application, including impacts on business processes
· Strong critical thinking and diagnostic skills
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Familiarity with the Microsoft identity, endpoint, and information security and protection platform including Defender, Purview, and Sentinel
· Familiarity with open-source security utilities and suites
· Familiarity with ITIL framework
