Many members are already planning for an experience that they will remember for a life-time at 4-H Camp. The 4-H Summer Camping opportunity is available for members in grades 4th – 6th grades in West Carroll Parish.
It will be held on our facility that has been used as the state 4-H summer camp for more than 96 years. In fact, it is the oldest 4-H camp in the South! Each summer more than 215,000 Louisiana youth along with some 9,000 volunteers took advantage of this opportunity.
The camp is conducted at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center located in Pollock, Louisiana. Our scheduled week to camp is Monday, July 20-Friday, July 24, 2020. You will be able to be part of the fun and enjoy swimming, canoeing, archery and line dancing.
In addition to the camp's wonderful history, we continue to make this camping opportunity available to youth at a minimal cost. The registration cost for 4-H Camp is approximately $200.00 per camper for a week, but we have created a payment plan option to reduce having to pay the total cost all at one time. Also, in an effort to continue to offer the camping program to all audiences, our Chancellor William Richardson is extending an offer of the Chancellor’s Scholarship Program for youth that are on the free or reduced school lunch program. These youth could have a portion of their fees covered, if they qualify. In order for us to determine if you qualify, please fill out the accompanying Chancellor Scholarship Form. Your 4-H’er can also sell strawberries to help offset the cost of camp. For each flat of strawberries sold, $3.00 will go toward your camp cost.
All applications are due to the 4-H office by Monday, March 16, 2020.
