Unlocking the Secrets of Food Science - 2026 Workshop Series

Back by popular demand after the success of our 2025 series, Unlocking the Secrets of Food Science returns in 2026 with more hands‑on, family‑friendly fun in the kitchen! Hosted by the LSU AgCenter Food Innovation Institute (FOODii) and the School of Nutrition and Food Sciences, this interactive workshop series is designed for curious youth, families, and food lovers of all ages.

Each session combines simple cooking activities with easy‑to‑understand food science concepts, helping participants discover how ingredients and techniques work together to create delicious results. This year’s themes include chips, salsa, and queso; butter and biscuits; hot cocoa and churros; and more. Participants will cook, learn, and take their creations home to enjoy.
