This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position recurring for 2 years.
Work Location: School of Plant, Environmental and Soil Sciences, LSU campus, Baton Rouge, LA.
Position Description: The Soil Chemistry group in the School of Plant, Environmental and Soil Sciences invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor-Research. The position will function as part of a larger Soil Chemistry group and will contribute to the group’s research with focus on soil carbon transformation in relation to soil health, greenhouse gas emissions as well as development of carbon-based materials for agricultural and environmental application. The incumbent is expected to collaborate on various aspects of laboratory and field research with group members, secure extramural research funding, and publish scholarly articles. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong ability and advanced instrumentation skills with a future vision in biogeochemical process research and bio-based product development.
Qualification Requirements: Qualifications include a PhD in soil science or environmental chemistry. Experience in characterization of greenhouse gas emissions and bio based product development is also highly desired.
Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
