Korey Pham is a Research Associate and PhD student for the Department of Entomology in Dr. Rodrigo Diaz's lab. She has a B.S. in General Biology from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. Korey has broad interests in conservation ecology in managed and natural systems. In partnership with the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) and LSU AgCenter, Korey is responsible for managing the giant salvinia weevil mass-rearing operation, monitoring giant salvinia infestations across south Louisiana, and provide outreach materials to better manage aquatic weeds. Her current research responsibilities include the optimization of salvinia weevil release recommendations and understanding the competitive interactions between giant salvinia and Cuban bulrush and its impact on the salvinia weevil biological control program.
