Dr. Holston is an Associate Professor, State Extension Nutrition Specialist, and registered dietitian with the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service at the LSU AgCenter in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For over 20 years, she has specialized in translation, development, dissemination and implementation of population-based, multi-level community-participatory obesity prevention interventions and programs.
She currently serves as the Principal Investigator for the LSU AgCenter Healthy Communities Initiative and the CDC’s High Obesity Program. Dr. Holston’s research applies dissemination and implementation science to integrate evidence-based practices into multi-level obesity prevention and local food access efforts. Her work focuses on assessing feasibility, acceptability, facilitators and barriers of obesity prevention strategies that improve nutrition security and expand food access in rural, underserved, and understudied communities.
