The Winn Parish Master Gardener Club has finally completed their first project for our parish. We wish to instill pride in our parish, and what better way to do that than with a Welcome Sign. We adorned the signs with flower beds, which will be cared for by the Winn Parish Master Gardeners. The Master Gardeners appreciate the support of the following organizations that contributed the new signs: The Kiwanis Club, The Rotary Club, The Lions Club, The Pilot Club, The Heart of Louisiana Humane Society, The Future Farmers of America (FFA) and The Winn Parish 4-H.

Special appreciation to L.C. Tommie Magee for placement of a sign on Highway 84 East, Garland H Sanders Family for placement of a sign on Highway 84 West, Garland H. Sanders family for placement of a sign on Highway 84 West, Latrelle Camp at Winnfield Animal Clinic for placement of a sign on Highway 167 North and Jaque and Laure Derr for placement of a sign on Highway 167 South.

Chad Camp and his FFA Class at Calvin High School cut and welded the signs together. We sincerely appreciate the anonymous donations made for the signs and flower beds, and for the many hours of hard work by the committed Master Gardeners to see this project completed.

The Master Gardeners who participated in this project are President-Emily Pombo, Vice President-Leah Clingan, Secretary-Penny Heard, Treasurer-Sherri Davis, Historian- Rita James, Charlotte Page, Jan Collins, Ann Crawford, Helen Audirsch, Ernie Pombo and our leader, Donny Moon.
