GENERAL RULES

•Show ages 0-19 years of age •Judges and Show Committee decisions are FINAL

•Books wil lclose at 9 am •Animals may arrive the night before, NO security will be provided

•Animals must be checked in by 9 am, NO exceptions •Animal MUST be registered in show to be used in showmanship

•Shows will start at 10 am •Shavings will be available for purchase

•$10 late entry fee if not pre-registered by April 12, 2019 •BEEF show will be in Rodeo Arena

•Checks accepted for pre-entry, make payable to Vernon 4-H •GOAT show will be in Livestock Barn

•CASH ONLY on the day of the show •Will follow LSU rules unless otherwise stated

•Breed Sponsorship is available for $250 per breed •$100 PROTEST FEE

•Breeding animals will be allowed more than 1 entry in a class

BEEF

Buckles will be awarded for

GRAND CHAMPIONS

10 entry minimum per breed to receive buckle

•Entry Fees: $25 for pre-entry, $35 after 4/12/19 and day of show

•Awards will be given to RESERVE CHAMPIONS

•Classes with less than 10 will get other awards

•Breeds with 10 or more will have their own class.All others will go into AOB Brahman or Non-Brahman influence depending on breed

•Commercial Heifer and Steer classes will depend on number entered

and will be shown by weight

•Brahman and Non-Brahman Commercial Heifers may be separated depending on number of entries

•All bulls over 6 months must have a nose lead

•Health papers may be checked

•Registration papers will be verified at check in

•Paper pending will be allowed with proper documentation

•Steers can have hair or be slick sheered

•Generators will be needed if you require power

•Weigh in for steers and commercial heifers will be from 7:30 am to 8:30 am

•$5 Jackpot Showmanship due at the gate

•Will also have miniature classes

•Classes will be:

Class 1- January 1, 2019 & after

Class 2- November 1, 2018 - December 31,2018

Class 3- September 1, 2018 - October 31, 2018

Class 4- July 1, 2018 - August 31, 2018

Class 5- May 1, 2018 - June 30, 2018

Class 6- March 1, 2018 - April 30, 2018

Class 7- January 1, 2018 - February 28, 2018

Class 8- November 1, 2017 - December 31,2017

Class 9- September 1, 2017 - October 31, 2017

Class 10- July 1, 2017 - August 31, 2017

Class 11- May 1, 2017 - June 30, 2017

Class 12- March 1, 2017 - April 30, 2017

Class 13- January 1, 2017 – February 28, 2017

Class 14- September 1, 2016 -December 1, 2016 (heifers only)

GOATS

Buckles will be awarded for GRAND CHAMPIONS AOB may be broken up if entries warrant

10 entry minimum per breed to receive buckle

•Entry Fees: $15 for pre-entry, $25 after 4/12/19 and day of show

•Awards will be given to RESERVE CHAMPIONS

•Jackpot Showmanship $5 at the gate

•Boer Doe, % Boer Doe,and Commercial Doe will be competing for

Boer Doe buckle

•Classes will be:

0-3 Months 9-12 Months

3-6 Months 12-18 Months

6-9 Months 18-24 Months

24 Months+

All classes are for buck and doe

Class 1 - Calves born after January 1, 2019 Ayrshire

Class 2 - September 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018 Holstein

Class 3 - May 1, 2018 – August 31, 2018 Jersey

Class 4 - January 1, 2018– April 30, 2018 AOB

Class 5 – September 1, 2017– December 31, 2017 Commercial Dairy Heifer

Class 6 – May 1, 2017 – August 31, 2017

Class 7 – 2-Year-Old - September 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017

Class 8 – 3-Year-Old – September 1, 2015 – August 31, 2016

Class 9 – 4-Year-Old – September 1, 2014 – August 31, 2015

Class 10- Aged Cows – Born Before September 1, 2014

Commercial Dairy Heifers that have not calved will be weighed. Classes will be determined by the range of weights of heifers.
