The first step in registering for the livestock program is through 4-H Online. All exhibitors (even FFA members) must create a 4-H Online profile. If you are only joining through FFA please select FFA- School Name as your club when registering. Click the button below to reach step by step instructions to creating a 4-H Online profile.

No animal will be allowed entry if it is not entered into the 4-H Online system by the deadlines.

4-H Online Instructions

Once you have created a 4-H Online account, the first step will be to enter your animal's information using the 4-H Online program. Exhibitors can go to their profile in 4-H Online to enter their animal's information by logging into 4-H Online just as they did when enrolling.

  • For all registered breeding animals, the exhibitor will need to enter the animal's information into the 4-H Online system on or before the animal's possession deadline. Registered papers are also required for all breeding animals. If papers are still pending, you will need to upload the Registration Papers Pending Form (attached below). All official registration papers are due to the St. Mary 4-H Office 30 days after possession date. Exhibitors will not have access to edit or enter animals in 4-H Online after the possession deadline.
  • For market and/or commercial breeding animals the exhibitor will also be required to go into the 4-H Online system to enter animal information on or before validation deadlines. This part of the validation process will be in addition to submitting DNA/hair samples and validation feeds to Agents and Ag Teachers by validation deadlines.

When entering your animal into 4-H Online, please keep these changes in mind when entering animals as some field had to be adapted to fit the program:

  • Home-raised is for Louisiana Bred. Select "yes" if the animal is LA bred.
  • License Number is for the Louisiana Bred Tag Number
  • Colors and markings is the variety/color (example: white, blue, barred, etc.)
  • Type of poultry is whether the bird is standard or bantam
