State and Regional 4-H Events

4-H Summer Camp

  • Summer camp is open to current 4th-6th graders
  • We usually camp during week 5 which falls the last week of June
  • Camp is held at Camp Grant Walker Educational Center in Pollock, LA
  • Cost for camp is $275.
  • Registration: registration typically opens in the spring. Applications are emailed out and sent home with members after club meetings. Selection is application based and is determined by the member's participation throughout the year. Applications for 2025 are due March 21, 2025.

  • Camp Counselor: Jr. Counselors must be 15 years of age or sophomore in high school. Contact the 4-H Office to apply if interested.


Challenge Camp

  • Challenge Camp is a camp open to 7th and 8th grade students and is held in November.
  • At Challenge Camp participants get to participate in STEM related activities and develop in personal and life skills.
  • Typically costs around $100
  • Registration: Applications are sent out in the fall and participants are selected on a first come first serve basis

L.O.S.T. Camp

  • LOST camp is similar to 4-H Camp, but for members in 7th or 8th grade and it usually takes place at the end of July, and it takes place at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA
  • Cost is usually around $230-$240
  • Registration: registration opens in late spring. Applications are emailed out and sent home with members after club meetings. Participants are chosen on a first come first serve basis.


Junior Leader Conference (JLC)

  • JLC is open to members ages 14 and up and takes place in the spring at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA
  • At JLC participants will be able to choose a track to participate in throughout the week. Tracks focus on different aspects of leadership and other important life skills.
  • Cost ranges from around $60-$90
  • Registration: applications are emailed out and sent home with members after club meetings. First priority for participation goes towards members of the Jr. Leader program club.

4-H University

  • 4-U is open to 8th-12th graders and is typically held the third full week of June at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA
  • Cost is approximately $215
  • At 4-H U participants are given the opportunity to either participate in Clover College (educational tracks) or compete in a contest.
  • An Interest Meeting for those who want to learn more about 4-H U is held in the spring before registration opens.
  • Registration: Applications must be turned in at the 4-H Office. Application deadline for 2025 is TBA.
