What is 4-H?
4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States! In Louisiana, 4-H is administered by the LSU AgCenter and its Louisiana Cooperation Extensive Services. The LSU AgCenter is a part of Louisiana State University (LSU).
4-H is an organization that allows youth to gain crucial life skills that are vital to success such as:
4-H Motto: "To Make the Best Better"
4-H Slogan: "Learn by Doing"
4-H Colors: Green and White
4-H Opportunities: 4-H offers wide variety of different opportunities for youth. Some of these opportunities include camps throughout the years, parish and state contests, scholarships, leadership experience, educational trips, workshops, and much more!
St. Mary utilizes the 4HOnline system for enrollment into the program. 4HOnline is fully encrypted; member information is safe, baked up continuously, and fully secured. For more information on enrollment, please use the link below:
Volunteers are a vital part of our program, and we appreciate all of the work our volunteers do!
We utilize volunteers for various parts of our program such as 4-H Camp, 4-H University, program clubs, club meetings, fall fun day, and achievement day.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for St. Mary Parish, contact the office at 337-828-4100 ext. 170.
Youth may participate in 4-H from 4th grade through completion of 12th grade with these age restrictions:
Each school club has its own membership fee. The St. Mary 4-H fee is $12, but school clubs may charge an additional fee to cover club costs at a local level.
