St. Landry Parish will be offering an outdoor skills program that has been named the St. Landry Parish Shooting Sports Club.  All instructors in the program will be certified by the state committee.

The shooting sports program will be taught as a group activity and is open to all 4-H members from ages 9-19.  Participants can select from the disciplines of shotgun (modified trap), archery and BB gun.

Sign-Up Fee
$20 - New Members
$15 - Returning Members

Checks can be made payable to:  St. Landry 4-H Foundation.

Personal equipment that has been approved by the instructor may be used.  The goal is to set up monthly club practices, fun days, competitions and Hunter Education Certification classes.  Upon successful completion of a discipline, 4-H'ers may elect to compete at the parish, regional and state level.

Parents and volunteers are encouraged to assist with the shooting sports program.  To become an instructor, you will need to complete the instructor training to become certified.

The parental permission and instructor interest forms are included in the handbook.  Applications and fees are due by Nov. 16, 2011, and can be mailed to the following:
