4-Hers Participate in the 2011 4-H University

The 2011 4-H University was held at LSU Baton Rouge the week of June 21-24, 2011.  Youth were able to interview for state boards, compete in contests to win trips and awards and participate in Clover College.  Some of the contests were demonstrations, public speaking, personal development and livestock judging.  4-H'ers were also able to take part in educational activities planned during the week.

St. Landry Parish 4-H’ers that interviewed and were accepted onto Louisiana 4-H Boards are:  Amy Stelly, Opelousas Catholic–Louisiana State 4-H Regional Representative (Central Region) and Alia Stelly, Opelousas Catholic–Louisiana State 4-H Food and Fitness Board Member.

Katelyn Boudreaux, Northwest High–Blue Ribbon Winner

Soybean Illustrated Talk
Hailey Perry, Northwest High–State Winner

Other St. Landry Parish 4-H University participants included:  Arnaudville Middle–Stephen Rideau, Beau Chene–Hannah McMillan, Leonville–Mallory Wyble, Member at Large–James Prather, Northwest High–Tyler Dean, Opelousas Catholic–Aaron Meche and Matthew Pontiff, Opelousas High–Tizna Harrison, Plaisance Middle–Brittany Thomas and Port Barre High–Kelsie Artigue.
