4-H Citizenship Camp!!

Cook Camp

From Friday, December 13th –Sunday, December 15th, St. John 4-H’ers, William Ledet, John Farthing, Bryce Ledet, and Alex Waguespack attended Operations LA Connections 2013. The 4-H State Citizenship Board offered an exciting opportunity to whip 4-H members into shape while they learned cool and interesting facts about the lives of our military heroes and their families. The camp weekend was planned and lead by the State 4-H Citizenship Board – teen leaders from all over the state along with adult volunteers and 4-H faculty. While at Operation LA Connections, St. John 4-H’ers met 4-H members from other parishes, took part in many fun and interactive workshops, and participated in service learning projects.

Cool Camp Features:

A Day in the Life—4-H’ers learned what it’s like to live a military life Honoring Our Furry Friends—Campers actually made collars for service dogs Operation Give Back—Campers prepared holiday packages for service personnel abroad The Art of War—4-H’ers wore drawing canvases and engaged in a paint battle
