Are you ready for a challenge? Southeast Region 4-H Challenge Camp is an exciting overnight experience for 7th and 8th grade 4-H members that combines leadership, teamwork, and fun. Campers will work together to solve problems, tackle challenges, build new friendships, and develop skills that will help them both in and out of 4-H. From exciting group activities to unforgettable camp memories, Challenge Camp is a chance to step up, try something new, and discover what you can accomplish when you challenge yourself.

Date: November 3 - 4, 2026

Location: Lion King Retreat Center, Amite, LA

Who Can Participate: 7th & 8th graders

Transportation: St. John Parish 4-H provides transportation to and from this event and is included in the registration cost

  • Families will receive a Square invoice after registration is approved.

Meals and snacks will be provided thoughout camp. Participants will also receive a resuable water bottle for use during camp.

  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Jacket or sweatshirt
  • Refillable enthusiasm for adventure
  • Snacks (NO NUTS PLEASE)
  • Cell phones (Cellphones and electronics are allowed in cabins ONLY and should not be out during the day! Cell reception is very spotty at camp.There will be times when youth will be in or around the pond or obstacle course. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMANGED OR LOST PHONES/DEVICES).

High school 4-H members in grades 10-12 may apply to serve as a Jr. Counselor. Jr. Counselor assist with activities, mentor younger campers, and help create a positive camp experience. Contact the St. John Parish 4-H Office for application information.
