The time has come to register for 4-H Summer Camp! The camp is held at Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center in Pollock, LA, approximately 20 miles north of Alexandria, LA. St. John the Baptist Parish 4-H will attend camp from Monday, May 25, to Thursday, May 28, 2026.
4-H Camp is a ton of fun! Recreational activities include swimming, canoeing, volleyball, arts and crafts, and dancing. Campers also participate in one of seven educational tracks that allow them to learn in a non-traditional environment.
The cost for camp this summer is $150.00 per camper. This fee includes lodging, meals, transportation, a parish group picture, and a camp t-shirt. 4-H Camp has a camp store where campers can purchase souvenirs and snacks. 4-H Camp has a no-money policy; therefore, parents/guardians, you must add money to your child's registration cost for the camp store. A camper can have a maximum of $30 for the camp store. You can check out the camp store by visiting the online camp store.
A payment schedule has been established to assist in paying for camp. The schedule is as follows:
If multiple youth within a household attend camp, the registration cost is $75/per additional child. The child must be within the same family account in 4-H Online and complete a registration form.
To assist families financially, a number of scholarships are available, which include the Chancellor Scholarship ($60), the Saints/Pelicans Scholarship (Full Camp Registration), the Robertson Family Scholarship (Full Camp Registration) and the Margaret Cargill Scholarship (Full Camp Registration). The Scholarship Application forms are attached to the registration form and are due March 6, 2026! Recipients will be announced at 4-H Achievement Day.
St. John the Baptist 4-H has limited spots available, which will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. To secure your spot, you must submit the registration form and $75.00 by March 31, 2026. Checks, money orders, and debit/credit cards are acceptable payment methods. Should you use a check or money order, have them payable to the St. John the Baptist 4-H Foundation. Please put the camper’s name in the memo line of your payment. If you would like to utilize a credit/debit card, an electronic invoice will be sent to the email provided and incur a 3.3% + 30 cents transaction fee.
