I am delighted to welcome the residents of St. Helena Parish to our Nutrition and Community Health Program. Formerly known as the Family and Consumer Science program, my mission is to listen, amplify, and coordinate the voices of the residents of St. Helena into actionable initiatives. I aim to provide you with valuable information on local services and events that promote health and well-being in our community.
Through our program, you will find resources and support to help you lead a healthier lifestyle. Whether you are looking for nutrition advice, community activities and events, educational workshops, delicious and nutritious low-cost recipes, or engaging classes, I am here to assist you along your journey.
I am committed to collaborating with the community to identify and address local needs through strategic actions, coalitions, and partnerships. Together, we can create a healthier and more vibrant St. Helena Parish.
Our services are here to support all members of our community, with a special focus on those who are SNAP-eligible, as we recognize the current challenges of poverty and the high rate of obesity in St. Helena Parish. I aim to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our residents.
I strive to create sustainable programs and foster stewardship within our community, including initiatives like community gardens and partnerships with our 4-H program. To achieve this, I need the support of volunteers, whether you can help once or on an ongoing basis. Your involvement can make a significant difference in the success of our initiatives.
