On Wednesday, June 2nd, 4-H'ers and volunteers from St. Helena Parish attended the annual LSU 4-H Day at the Capitol. This event totaled 1102 4'H members from across Louisiana.

The legislators were very impressed with the turnout and provided excellent tours and educational programs to the parish groups. State 4-H officers and LSU AgCenter administrators were introduced to the Senate and House in the afternoon sessions.

The St. Helena group consisted of 41 youth and five volunteers. They met with Senator Robert Marionneaux and asked him questions about the Gulf Coast and wetlands to get an understanding about the oil spill in the Gulf.
