St. Helena 4-H'ers visited a pumpkin patch and received approximately 20 to 30 minutes of instruction on how pumpkins are grown. Youth also saw a hands-on demonstration on pumpkin carving with instructions on how to safely carve their pumpkins when they got home.

Washington, Tangipahoa and St. Helena 4-H'ers attended the annual Shooting Sports Day on November 1. St. Helena had five 4-H'ers participate in this event. Youth learned about ATV safety, archery, air rifles and other areas of shooting.

At Challenge Camp, November 11-13, youth had the opportunity to stay two nights and experience group living in the outdoors and what it was like to be away from home.
