Red River 4-H'ers and Volunteers came out on Saturday, April 12, 2014 to “Painting the Park Party” to help revitalize the Town of Coushatta Park. 4-H'ers and Volunteers painted the playground equipment and cleaned up the park. At the time of the painting of the park because of weather conditions and the wetness of the ground the rubber chips that were to be spread that day was not able to be done, but will be done at a later date. The rubber chips were bought with the assistance of a $3,000 Eat4-Health grant from United Healthcare, rubber mulch chips will be placed under each piece of equipment. The Town of Coushatta City Council voted to provide the landscape timbers to contain the rubber mulch around the equipment.
This event was a great success. We would like to thank United Healthcare, Town of Coushatta and the Red River Parish 4-H'ers and Volunteers for their support in “Painting the Park”.
