A $10,000 donation toward a community garden is a welcome addition for local residents through a donation from Encana Oil and Gas (USA), Inc. The community and youth will soon have access to programs that promote healthy living and active lifestyles. The $10,000 donation given to the LSU AgCenter will provide funding for a new community garden. The LSU AgCenter, Junior Leader Club, Celebrate Girls Club and Jr. Master Gardeners will create and care for the community garden. Students will learn the importance of agriculture, healthy dietary habits, responsibility and caring for others with the end goal of having the harvested produce donated to organizations including the Red River Council on Aging.
