4-H Members Help Parish to Go Green

The Red River Junior Leaders along with citizens of Red River Parsih met April 30, 2011, at the Fairgrounds for a parish-wide cleanup for the Going Green on the Red River Festival.The day began with volunteers receiving brekfast from Encana Oil and Gas. Then volunteers were given gloves, water, trash bags and sunscreen to join in the cleanup. Each Junior Leader received a vest and a litter pickup stick to help with their cleanup. Five areas of the parish were targeted for cleanup. The Red River Parish Junior Leaders were picked up litter from the intersection of Highway 155 Ashland Road to Highway 787. This was a great service learning project for the Junior Leaders.
