4-H Challenge Camp is one of the most valuable experiences a young person can have. It’s a learning experience where youth can learn team building, decision making, communication and conflict resolution skills through practical application in the great outdoors. They learn and practice living together as group, getting along with others, appreciating people different interests and backgrounds. 4-H Challenge Camp also encourages youth to create team spirit, build self-reliance skills and enhance self-esteem while developing new friendships with peers and adults. The final goal is for youth participants to apply and practice the skills learned at 4-H Challenge Camp at home, in their schools and in their communities when they return home.
4-H Agents, volunteer leaders and teen counselors from each parish attend and stay in the cabins with the campers.
