In 4-H we believe in the power of young people. We see that every child has valuable strengths and real influence to improve the world around us.
4-H is a positive youth development program delivered by Cooperative Extension – a system of more than 100 public universities across the country. 4-H provides experiences for young people to learn by doing; through informal, research based, hands-on educational activities 4-H members gain knowledge and life skills to help them become positive, productive, capable, and compassionate members of their communities.
Our programming provides education in three mission areas are Citizenship, S.E.T (Science, Engineering, Technology), and Healthy Living. Inside of these three mission areas are a broad variety of categories ranging from aeronautics and embryology to nutrition and character education.
Orleans 4-H is always looking to extend the reach of our program. If you are interested in volunteering or if you are interested in starting a 4-H club please reach out to orleansparish4h@agcenter.lsu.edu
