4-H University offers opportunities for youth from all over the state to come together to enjoy a week full of events. Mark the date for June 21-24.
Volunteer training is essential so that volunteers not only understand the expectations of their role but have the skills, competencies, and information necessary to be successful. The LSU AgCenter is committed to providing opportunities for youth and adult volunteers to participate in quality professional development training designed to meet their specific needs.
4-H Challenge Camp is a weekend camping experience focusing on 6th, 7th and 8th graders specifically. About 250 youth and adult volunteers from 12 Northeast Louisiana parishes attend the 3-day/2-night event. Parishes participating include Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union and West Carroll.
Junior Leadership Conference is a youth driven educational experience that features workshop tracks targeting leadership development, communication, teamwork, service-learning, youth-adult partnerships and time management. JLC camp is March 7-9, 2014 at Grant Walker Educational Center on February 3, 2014. Must be 14 years or older and is limited to 8 4-H members. Registration deadline is February 3, 2014 and will cost $80
The 2014 Co-Op Leadership Conference will be held March 28-30, 2014 at Camp Grant Walker. While attending camp you will share and learn techniques and resources from professionals working in cooperative forms of business. The cost is $30 for 8th-12th Graders. An Educational trip and cash awards will be presented to top leaders.

Food and Fitness Camp weekend is a team experience! Youth and adults work together as a team to learn and develop skills in nutrition, diet, and fitness. Teams consist of one camper in grades 4-6 and one adult partner, which can be a parent, grandparent or other caregiver. Register right away! Deadline to register is January 31, 2014.

Kids need positive, committed adult role models in their lives and that's where parents and community volunteers play an important role in 4-H Youth Development. The Madison Parish 4-H Youth Development Program implemented a new program delivery model last year that provide a coordinated educational effort to more fully engage youth in hands-on learning experiences that are experiential and linked to life skill development.
Madison 4-H Teen Leadership Club members joined almost 1,500 youth and volunteers on Wednesday, May 30, in Baton Rouge celebrating the state bi-centennial and supporting Louisiana 4-H Youth Development at 4-H Day at the Capitol.
4-H University and Clover College featured a ‘star-studded’ theme this year celebrating the more than 1,400 students participating in 43 contests, 12 Clover College educational sessions and other educational programs. The 4-H premier teen event is held over three days on the LSU campus from June 19-21.
Madison 4-H youth were among over 300 campers and volunteers who opened the summer camping season May 21-24 at the Grant Walker Educational Center in Pollock, LA. The 2011 4-H LOST Camp will be held August 1-5, 2011. LOST camp is intended to fulfill a demand for a longer camping experience for 7th and 8th graders and is held at the LSU AgCenter's Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center, an 80 acre campsite located near Pollock, LA, on Highway 8 about 15 miles northeast of Alexandria.
