A quick meal requires planning. Planning helps tackle the challenge of preparing meals for the week. Not only knowing what to prepare, but also knowing what to purchase at the grocery store can save time and money. Having all the ingredients on hand helps save time. Planning also helps reduce the grocery bill. When you purchase what you need it can break the habit of buying food without a plan. Knowing how you will use left-over food also saves time and money. If you have a family member arriving home before you, you can have them start the family meal if you have a plan.
There are many benefits to home-cooked meals. Home cooked meals are usually more nutritious since we know how the meal is prepared and what was added. Also, we can control portion sizes of home-cooked meals. If you sit around the table as a family, you can communicate, which may improve your communication with family members. Remember only discuss pleasant topics at the table. It’s also a chance to teach children, and maybe adults, manners.
Variety is the key. Meals should be colorful, include different textures, flavors, and of course should be tasty. Feel free to browse through my recipes to see what meals we eat at the Judd’s house. We can always email, fax, mail, or even tell you over the telephone many more recipes. You can also contact us for questions regarding my recipes, substitutions, or anything else you may need assistance with.
