Parish Officers and Leaders Attend Regional Training

Belle Chasse Primary School in Plaquemines Parish was the host site for the 2011 4-H Officer/Leader Training held on Saturday, October 22. Jefferson Parish 4-H club officers and leaders joined participants from Orleans, St. Bernard, St. Charles, and Plaquemines parishes. Club officers received special training in their specific officer responsibilities followed by special workshops in four different areas. Volunteer leaders participated in a separate leader workshop. The day ended with a hot dog lunch. Participants will receive an Officer/Leader Training T-Shirt at November club meetings.

Jefferson Parish participants from the Eastbank included: Debbie Gissel (leader), Kaori Keyser, Dominique Reese, Selena Rodriguez, Nicole Celestine, and Priyanka Chudasama from Roosevelt Middle School; Ryan Mathews, Tia Williams, and Channing Holmes from Audubon Elementary; Isa Gale, Megan Harold, and Y’vonne Antoine from Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies; Diana Rivera and Diane Ottallah from Grace King High School; Ty Salvant (leader), Cy Salvant, Gabriel Contreras, and Jesse McNary from East Bank Home School Club; Zoe Martin-Morales, Hang Nguyen, and Payton Schmitz from Birney Elementary.

Westbank participants included: Rachel Faili (leader), Katie Maise, Chelsey Miller, Samaria Stevenson, Richard Hood, Ronald Poole, and Helen Stevenson from Word of Life Academy; Jon Champagne (leader), Skylar Fazende, and Lloyd Gordon from Kerner Elementary; Blake Champagne, Matthew Victoriano and Nicholas Victoriano from Fisher Middle/High School; Savanah Grundstrom, Asia Williams, and Calvin Prince from Wm. Hart Elementary.

Other adults attending the training were Shelita Holmes, Tammy Contreras, Lori Maise, and Linda Fazende.
