4-H Summer Camp

Jefferson Parish 4-H members joined members from Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, Livingston, Jackson, Red River, Caddo and Winn parishes for an exciting week of good times and good friends. The week long camp was held  June 7-11, 2010, at the Grant Walker Educational Center in Pollock, La. Campers enjoyed many recreational activities and educational tracks that included Outdoor Adventures; Food & Fitness; Dramatic Arts; Exploring Louisiana: Wetlands, Wildlife & You!; Get Ready, Get SET … Science, Engineering & Technology! The 2011 4-H Summer Camp dates are June 27- July 1, 2011.  Please contact the Jefferson 4-H office to register. 4-H Camp is open to youth in grades 4-6.

4-H Day at the Capitol

Jefferson Parish 4-H members and volunteer leaders visited the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge June 2, 2010, for “4-H Day at the Capitol,”  joining hundreds of 4-H members, 4-H volunteers and parents from throughout the state. " 4-H Day at the Capitol" is an annual event held in early June each year. It is open to 4-H members and their families. The 2011  date for "4-H Day at the Capitol" will be  June 1, 2011.  Make plans to join the fun! Contact the Jefferson 4-H office to register.


4-H University

Jefferson Parish teens participated in the annual State 4-H University held  June 22-25, 2010,  on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, La. More than 1600 4-H members from across Louisiana spent several days in Baton Rouge participating in state level competition or receiving intensive training in selected subject areas, such as forensics, robotics and citizenship. Dates for 4-H University 2011 are June 21-24, 2011. 4-H University is open to youth in grades 8-12. Please contact the Jefferson 4-H office to register.
