Jackson-Winn Field Day

Pauline Lester won one door prize given away at the Field Day held at Fannin Feed and Farm Supply on Saturday, July 21, 2012. Representative and Mrs. Fannin donated two large ferns to be given away as door prizes. The other winner was Clay Osbon.

The Field Day offered two different educational areas for participants: horticulture and beef cattle. Horticulture topics discussed included container gardening, cool season vegetables, plant and disease diagnostics, and cool season lawn care. Beef cattle topics discussed included weed identification, pasture and forages, and beef cattle marketing. This event was hosted by the LSU AgCenter and Fannin Feed and Farm Supply, with LSU AgCenter specialists traveling from Union Parish, Ouachita Parish, Alexandria, and Baton Rouge.

The LSU AgCenter is looking to continue this educational series in the spring.
