2 ½ tablespoons paprika 2 tablespoons salt 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon ground black pepper 1 tablespoon onion powder 1 tablespoon ground red pepper (or cayenne pepper) 1 tablespoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon dried thyme
Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container to preserve freshness. You may also put the mixture in a salt or pepper shaker to have on hand at the table to season food.
Making this mixture at home is a good way to keep track of sodium in-take. Notice there is no added MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), a substance found in many of the “store bought” Cajun seasoning blends.
