The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry is designated as the state's lead agency in the regulation of pesticide use and application. If you are interested in taking the exam to obtain your private pesticide license you will have to contact either the Opelousas office at 337-948-0230 or the Baton Rouge office at 225-922-1924 or click here to be connected to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry website for additional information.
You will have to fill out an application for testing and the Department of Agriculture and Forestry is the only agency designated to administer the exam. A link for the application can be found on the right side of this page as well as a link for the study pesticide core manual, which is sold through the LSU AgCenter.
