The Evangeline Parish Cattleman's Association is an organization made up of local cattle producers representing different areas of the parish as well as different breeds of cattle. The mission of our organization is to "Educate and inform cattle producers of the surrounding area with the latest technology to improve beef production." We offer programs throughout the year that the include field days, educational meetings, annual ladies night meeting, and the Beef Classic Junior Livestock Show. These programs provide information about the beef industry updates, cattle health programs, pasture and hay field management, farm insurance, and programs offered at the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Farm Service Agency. The Evangeline Cattleman's Association aim to educate cattle producers of all ages in all aspects of the beef industry.
One of our favorite annual activities we host is the Evangeline Beef Classic Livestock Show which is a junior livestock show for any junior livestock exhibitor featuring all breeds of cattle. This show is held every year the Sunday before Thanksgiving at the Chauncey Pitre Barn in Ville Platte. This past year we began awarding a scholarship to a graduation senior in which we will continue to award on an annual basis.
