4-H'ers were challenged by plant science and by many other contests.

The talent show was very impressive with lots of competition.

The day ended with announcement of winners. Awards were handed out by leaders and Junior Leaders.

The 2012 Evangeline Parish 4-H Achievement Day was held Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Bayou Chicot Elementary.

4-H’ers presented demonstrations on subjects from agriculture and family and consumer science to horticulture and Louisiana agriculture products. They also took part in a variety of identification and written tests, a handicraft contest, career preparation, talent show, and public speaking.

First place junior 4-H winners (4th - 8th grade) will go on the Junior Winners Trip in May of this year and first place senior club winners will attend 4-H University in Baton Rouge on the LSU campus in June of this year.

We would like to extend a thank you to the Bayou Chicot Elementary School faculty and staff, local leaders, volunteer leaders, parents, supporters of the Evangeline Parish 4-H program and the LSU AgCenter’s Extension Service personnel. Also, thank you to all who served as contest judges for the parish Achievement Day.
