Evangeline Parish 4-H offers many programs throughout the parish including three annual poster contests.
The Rice Poster Contest promotes rice, the parish's primary commodity. On the poster, 4-Hers promotes rice consumption by telling a story about rice or rice products, or describe the process rice goes through before it can be eaten. The Dairy Poster Contest also tells a story about the importance of milk or milk products in the diet. In the Beef Poster Contest, posters should tell a story of beef and/or beef products. Each parish division winner's poster will be sent to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the state 4-H competition.
All poster contests are open to all parish 4-H club members. Information about these and all other contests and activities can be found in the monthly newsletter, "The Clover Patch." Below are links to lists of winners of the Evangeline Parish 4-H poster contests for the past three years.
