Ag Adventures is designed to offer support to school systems by providing information pertinent to Louisiana’s high stakes testing policy of LEAP. Students attending Ag Adventures participate in hands-on exhibits highlighting two major commodities produced in our area: soybean and sweet potato. They will view commodities from its inception while becoming educated on procedures that make it a viable, useable product. Two additional exhibits are designed to increase one’s knowledge of animal production and management; Horses and Mini Farm. At the conclusion, students will have a better understanding of our food supply. The ability to view “real life” situations of the agricultural industry will directly relate to the concepts included in LEAP Testing with special emphasis on plant science, environmental sciences and how agriculture impacts youth's everyday lives.
