Cameron Parish is the parish with the most land area in the United States. The parish has a total area of 1,932 square miles, of which, 1,313 square miles is land and 619 square miles of it is water. Located in the Southwestern corner of the state, it is a land of abundance, unique information, fertile in soil, rich in beauty, a veritable storehouse of oil and gas and a repository for game and fish, fur-bearing animals, and cattle. According to the U.S. Census, in July 2019 the parish population was estimated to be 6,973.
