Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon
Fee: $10.00 fee
This workshop will be held in two parts. You must come to the first day of the slab building pottery project on November 21, 2011, from 9 a.m. - noon. On the second day, November 23, 2011, from 9 a.m. - noon, after the art has been fired in a kiln, youth will return to complete the project by painting and stringing.
Artist will be Avoyelles native, Carey Coco. She has been making clay pots and working with clay for the past 15 years. She will demonstrate how to throw a clay pot on a wheel and will teach the youth how to work with clay and appropriate tools.
We are limiting this workshop to the first 75 participants. After we reach the limit we will not take any more applications. Also, there are no refunds for missed workshops. We will not accept any walk-ins on the day of the workshop. We must know ahead of time who will be in attendance.
