Join us at 4-H Summer Camp where it's “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler A!" Summer Camp is open to youth currently in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. Ascension 4-H will hold a mandatory informational meeting in March (TBA)! Please be sure to attend if you would like your child's name on the list to attend summer camp and if you would like information on this grand adventure! A NON-REFUNDABLE $50.00 deposit will be collected at this meeting to hold your child’s summer camp spot. Depending on the number of students interested, a lottery may be used to select attendees.
Camp will be held at the LSU AgCenter's very own, Camp Grant Walker which has been used as the state 4-H summer camp for 102 years. In fact, it is the oldest 4-H camp in the South! More than 215,000 Louisiana youth along with over 9,000 volunteers have taken part in this experience. The camp is conducted at the Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center located in Pollock, Louisiana. This is an OVERNIGHT camp. Our scheduled week to camp is Monday, July 7 - Thursday, July 10, 2025. Campers will be able to be participate in a variety of fun and educational activities such as gardening, swimming, canoeing, archery, and line dancing. The baseline cost for camp is $275.00 per camper. Scholarship opportunities will be available.
As with any event, camp counselors and adult chaperones will be utilized. All counselors and adult chaperones will be required to attend training. All adult chaperones will be background checked.
