4-H members in 4th-12th grades are invited to participate in the Pet Show and Decorated Pumpkin Contest on October 28, 2025, at 5:30 pm at the Ascension 4-H Office.

Registration for all events begins at 5:30 p.m. The pet show, costume judging & decorated pumpkin judging will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Pet Show Information:

• $2.00 registration fee for pets.
• All “pet” type animals are welcome.
  • This EXCLUDES any livestock species. Pigs, sheep, goats, cattle, rabbits and chickens are featured in the Livestock Show in January.
• All pets must be restrained-on a leash or in a cage.
• Animals should be up to date on Vaccines.
• Only one (1) pet per child. Only siblings may share a pet, but it can only enter the ring once.
• Do not bring aggressive animals or animals that are too big for the 4-H member to handle.
• Only Pet Show participants, along with judges and set ring help will be allowed in the show ring.
• 4-H members must have completed and submitted an enrollment form to participate.
• All classes will have a best dressed pet contest. Feel free to get creative with the costumes of you and your pet.
• Categories: Large Dogs, Cat, Small Dogs, Puppies, Medium Dogs, Other

Decorated Pumpkin Contest Information:

• No registration fee. Registration is 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm.
• Pumpkins must be picked up when judging is complete.
• There will be Cloverbud (participation ONLY), Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Age Divisions
• All pumpkins will be eligible to enter the school contests, except carved.
• Categories: Carved, Prettiest, Character, 4-H Spirit, Any Other

Costume Contest:

• There will be registration for the Human Costume Contest near the Pumpkin registration table.
• Back numbers will be distributed for all costume participants and must be worn throughout the evening until costume awards have been announced.
• Judges will walk around to judge the costumes throughout the night.
