Acadia 4-H Ambassador Application

Outstanding 4-H youth in grades 8-12 are invited to apply to serve as and Acadia Parish 4-H Ambassador, a unique leadership opportunity that will build communication skills and promote the 4-H program. All interested youth must complete the application form available through the link below and participate in an interview. Interested 8th-12th grade club members must submit a completed application form. Selection of no more than10 youth will be based on the application form and interview.

Ambassadors will be required to spend a minimum of three hours per month promoting 4-H. Specifically, we envision the newly appointed Junior 4-H Ambassadors speaking on a parish and local level at different civic organizations, other 4-H clubs and presenting radio spots.

The agents will only serve as advisors to these Junior 4-H Ambassadors. We are looking for outstanding club members who are independent, are excellent communicators, excel in 4-H project work and possesses a clear 4-H vision. In other words, ambassadors will be responsible for writing their own presentations and providing their own transportation to the 4-H promotion activities they have arranged.

Acadia Parish 4-H Ambassador youth must participate in the following activities:

  1. Police Jury Reception.
  2. Attend at least one school board meeting.
  3. Farmers Appreciation Dinner.
  4. Preside at Achievement Day.
  5. Preside at Outstanding Member Reception.
  6. Serve on parish 4-H committees if asked.
  7. Promote 4-H at least one parish 4-H club meeting in September or October.
  8. Assist with parish livestock show sale.
  9. Present 4-H program on use of one form of media such as newspaper, radio and television.
