Hemline for Hearts is an annual event sponsored by the American Heart Association (AHA). The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness about heart disease, the number one killer of women in the United States. Students members of FA@LSU are eligible to submit a design idea for the competition, which uses paper red hearts provided by AHA. The top student designs are chosen to be actually constructed. Students are given 4 hours to create their paper heart designs using tape, staples, and glue. The winners of this competition are then featured at the annual Go Red for Women luncheon held by the AHA.
