Welcome to the Department of Textiles, Apparel Design, and Merchandising. If you are interested in fabrics and fibers, have a creative flair, or enjoy the retail and business atmosphere, we have a program for you.
Our Textiles and Apparel curriculum includes concentrations in Textile Science, Apparel Design, and Fashion Merchandising.
Textiles scientists work with fibers, yarns, and fabrics; exciting developments in these areas have an impact on all of our lives and the apparel products we purchase.
Apparel designers focus on creative and technical skills; many of our graduates have succeeded in fashion centers such as New York City, Dallas and Los Angeles.
The retailing of products is a dynamic and challenging career; our graduates in this concentration hold positions with most of the major retailers in the country.
The common theme among all of our concentrations is the textile/apparel complex, the third largest industry in the country and a major global industry. Continuous change and challenging environments are the benchmarks of this industry.
If you are up to the challenge, we provide one of the best programs in the country!
