Coastal Wetlands Soils Characterization Lab (Wet Soils Lab)

The primary purpose of the Coastal Wetlands Soils Characterization Lab (Wet Soils Lab) is to characterize both hydric and nonhydric soils, particularly in the coastal wetland areas. The lab provides services to business, industry, LSU faculty, extension and experiment station personnel, and state and federal government agencies. The test procedures follow the Soil Survey Laboratory Methods Manual. Procedures can also be modified to meet customer’s requirements.

The Coastal Wetlands Soils Characterization Lab is located in M.B. Sturgis Hall, rooms 324 and 328.
